Discord's limit history
- For years: 8 MB free.
- April 2023: raised to 25 MB.
- September 2024: cut to 10 MB.
- 13 August 2026: raised to 20 MB, and mobile now checks the size before its own compression.

What is Telegram's file size limit?
2 GB per file on a free account and 4 GB with Telegram Premium.
Do these limits change?
Often. Discord alone has used 8 MB, 25 MB, 10 MB and now 20 MB for free accounts since 2023. Each row shows the date we last checked it.
MB or MiB?
Some services mean 1,000,000 bytes by a megabyte and others 1,048,576 (a mebibyte). SqueezeVideos presets aim a few percent under the stated limit so either reading works.
