Compress video to 10 MB
Drop a clip and it comes out under 10 MB, the size for Discord's former free limit (until August 2026) and many forum and support-ticket uploaders. Resolution and bitrate are worked out for you; trim and mute help it look better.
How much video fits in 10 MB?
| Quality level | Maximum length |
|---|---|
| 1080p30 (H.264, ~4,500 kbps) | 0:16 |
| 720p30 (H.264, ~2,200 kbps) | 0:33 |
| 480p30 (H.264, ~1,000 kbps) | 1:10 |
| 360p30 (H.264, ~600 kbps) | 1:50 |
Estimates: 96 kbps audio, 4% overhead. Actual quality depends on how busy the footage is.
Longer than that? Trim it, remove the sound, or let the tool drop the resolution automatically. Work out any combination with the bitrate and file size calculator.

Questions people ask
How long a video fits in 10 MB?
With 96 kbps audio, about 0:16 at 1080p, 0:33 at 720p or 1:10 at 480p using H.264. Calm footage can go longer; fast motion needs the higher bitrates.
Why does the tool aim for 9.5 MB instead of 10 MB?
A small margin covers container overhead and the megabyte/mebibyte difference some apps use, so the upload isn't rejected by a hair.
Will the file be exactly 10 MB?
Encoders hit an average bitrate, not an exact size, so the result usually lands a little under the target. If the first pass overshoots, SqueezeVideos automatically runs a corrected second pass. You always see the real final size.
