Why trimming is the best compression

Is trimming frame-accurate?

Does trimming make the file smaller?
Yes, proportionally: half the length means roughly half the size at the same quality. If you also set a target size, the shorter clip gets more bitrate per second and looks better.
Can I cut out a section in the middle?
This tool keeps one continuous section (a start and an end point). To remove a middle section, export the two halves separately.
Is there a length limit?
Only your device's memory and time. Long 4K recordings are best trimmed on a computer.
