By accessing and using SqueezeVideos ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

SqueezeVideos is a free, browser-based video compression tool that allows users to compress video files locally on their devices using WebAssembly technology (FFmpeg.wasm).

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to compress or process any illegal content
  • Compress videos containing child exploitation material or other illegal content
  • Use the Service to infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
  • Use automated tools to abuse or overload the Service
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

While we cannot see your videos (they're processed locally), you are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws.

User Responsibilities

Content Ownership

You retain all rights to your videos. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to compress and distribute any videos you process using the Service.

Copyright Compliance

You must have permission to compress any copyrighted content. Do not use the Service to process pirated movies, TV shows, or other copyrighted material you don't have rights to.

Device Security

Since processing happens on your device, you are responsible for your device's security and the safety of your video files.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and documentation, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Service uses the following open-source technologies:

  • FFmpeg.wasm: Licensed under LGPL 2.1 or later
  • Nuxt.js: Licensed under MIT License
  • Vue.js: Licensed under MIT License

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by applicable open-source licenses.

No Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Quality & Results

We do not guarantee that compressed videos will meet any specific quality standards or file size targets. Results depend on many factors including your original video, chosen settings, and device capabilities.

Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

Data Loss

We are not responsible for any data loss. Always keep backups of your original videos before compression. Browser crashes or errors may cause loss of work in progress.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Damage to your device or data
  • Loss of video files or compressed videos
  • Poor compression quality or unexpected results
  • Service downtime or unavailability
  • Any consequences of sharing compressed videos

DMCA & Copyright Policy

We respect intellectual property rights. However, since videos are processed entirely in your browser and we have no access to them, we cannot monitor for copyright infringement.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to compress and share any videos you process. Do not use the Service to process copyrighted content without permission.

If you believe your copyright has been infringed by someone using our Service, we cannot moderate user-generated content as all processing happens locally in browsers. You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to content you compress.

Third-Party Services & Links

The Service uses third-party services including:

  • Vercel (hosting and analytics)
  • FFmpeg.wasm CDN (for loading the compression library)

We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Abusive or illegal use of the Service
  • Technical or operational reasons

Since the Service is free and requires no registration, termination means blocking access from your IP address or browser.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
